The island has panoramic views around every corner

The Isle of Man is self-governing and is one of Britain’s best kept secrets with 1000 years of continuous
parliament and a 100 year old motorbike racing history.

The Island has its own specially designed stamps and money (sterling, and don’t worry, we accept English and Scottish notes and coins). It’s home to 9 golf courses, and miles of coastal and country walks together with 17 beautiful glens.

Ballahowin Courtyard has also been used as a film location in films such asn"The Dark" with Sean Bean and "Trauma" with Colin Firth and Mena Suvari.

  The perfect holiday retreat

Recently, it has become a location for many award-winning films such as The Libertine, On a Clear Day, Heart of Me and many more, and in 2005
hosted the making of Lassie Come Home.

The Island has a unique Victorian railway system of steam, electric and horse drawn trams, all original stock. Manx National Heritage runs some of the most innovative museums and visitor centres and has won many awards for its displays and presentations.

The Island is in some ways self-sufficient and every visitor is encouraged to savour the flavours of Manx produce, from milk, butter, cheese, bread, vegetables, real ale, kippers, queenies, lamb, pork and beef to honey, chocolate
and award winning ice cream.
